AFM (Aluminum Foamet Material). Used between the transmission bearing housing and the transmission end cover. OEM replacement reference 36801-87C. Cometic’s AFM gaskets are made with an aluminum core with a chemically blown, compounded nitrile synthetic thin foam-like rubber layer bonded to both sides. Temperature resistant to over 250°F (122°C). AFM rubber has a 85% recovery while maintaining strong torque retention. Re-torqueing, gasket sealers or silicone beads are not required.
