Black wrinkle painted with highlighted fins. Complete set with all that’s required to transfer your engine into a horsepower spitting monster. Will upgrade your stock 88″ to 124″ capacity. Kit comes complete with stroker flywheels, big bore cylinder & flat-top piston kit that gives a 10.8:1 CR with the included 91cc high flow heads. The 640 Easy Start gear driven cams provide the lift required to let this engine breathe but insures easy turn-over with stock starter & battery. Note 1: Stock cases must be machined to accept the larger 4-1/8″ big bore cylinders. Kit adds .096″ to engine height but will fit stock frame. Note 2: You will build a serious high performance engine. It is therefore not compatible with stock ignition and a stock (too small) throttle housing. A large throttle housing, as the 558678 S&S 58mm single bore unit, is advised and high performance ECU is required. Carbureted engines will require a ignition system with adjustable advance curves and large carburetor, as the S&S Super G or similar. Kits are machined to be compatible with stock manifolds. Note 3: S&S recommends MCS 978519 JIMS crankcase bearing insert, for 03-17 Twin Cam models, to replace the stock roller bearing for the stronger early style Timken bearing. See MCS 978517 for required JIMS tool. The correct Timken bearing can be ordered as MCS 508960 / OEM 9028.

Wrinkle black finish. This is the basic S&S V-style 80″ motor, designed as stock replacement for a stock Evolution Big Twin, instead of overhauling it. Engine is stock 3-1/2″ bore x stock 4-1/4″ stroke giving stock 80″ (1340cc) displacement. Cast pistons with a 8.4:1 CR. Offers a little over stock performance with the 508 cam, Super E carb and high flow S&S heads but still offer a stock like life. Note: Engine is ready to run. Includes: Super E carburetor, manifold and S&S Super Stock single fire ignition. The charging system is not included.

All black powder coated finish, matching the factory finish . High Compression engine. Engine comes with 10.8:1 CR flat top forged pistons and 640GE easy-start cams. If you prefer all out high RPM horsepower numbers, this high compression engine is the one. Engine is sold as ‘Long Block’, meaning these are engines without any intake components or ignition. Any high performance intake system, that will fit a stock engine, will fit the S&S 124″ since S&S specially machined the heads to compensate for cylinder length. Stock compatible air cleaners and breathers wil also fit. Note: Sold as ‘Long Block’ engine. Carburetor / throttle housing, manifold, ignition and charging system is not included. Note: A large throttle housing and high performance ECU is required for best performance. Carbureted engines will require a ignition system with adjustable advance curves and large carburetor, as the S&S Super G or similar. Note: 06-17 Dyna requires 558666 (black) oil line installation kit. Note: Charging system requires an early style (MCS 591077) sprocket shaft spacer of 1.750″ OD x 1.255″ ID x 1.095″ thick.

Note: Special Order Product only. Please contact your MCS sales representative to order Natural finish with black painted cylinders. Engine comes with a cast cam cover, forged 3-5/8 big bore pistons and complete with a Super E carburetor kit, an S&S Super Stock ignition system and 3 5/8″ x 4-1/2″ stroke. This Alternator/Generator engine, is basically an Early Shovel engine on the right side, with all generator and timer drive gears. Engines come with a special reverse ignition timer drive gear so they can be used with late, 70-99 style, ignition systems since these drive in the opposite direction. With its late Shovel left side crankcase the more modern and dependable 70-84 style alternator charging system can be used. If a generator is not used it is an excellent place to install a spin-on oil filter. Another advantage, all 70-up 4-speed, 5 or even 6-speed transmissions, can be run. Note: All S&S Shovelhead engines contain an Evolution style camshaft and tappets.
